Ebrahim Dahodwala qualified in 1951 and established the firm in the same year.
He is principally responsible for providing taxation consultancy services to the clients of the firm. He has vast experience of advising on setting up of new businesses, financial management and taxation planning.
He was the first President of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Pakistan (ICAP) from the profession, a position always held previously by the Secretaries to the Federal Government of Pakistan. He was also the first President of South Asian Federation of Accountants from Pakistan. This is a regional body representing the regulators of the profession in Pakistan, India, Srilanka, Bangladesh and Bhutan. He also has been President of the Income Tax Bar Association, Karachi. He has had the opportunity of having served as a member of International Accounting Standards Committee.
He has been associated with the affairs of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan since its inception in 1961, and has been the Institute’s Vice President and Chairman of several committees for a number of years. He has also been executive editor of the Pakistan Accountant (Institute’s official journal).
He has represented Pakistan a number of times in international forums like the CAPA Conferences and read papers on important technical subjects in several seminars and conferences.

Qasim Causer qualified in 1977 in the United Kingdom and joined Ernst & Young in London. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.
Qasim has represented BDO Ebrahim & Co. at several BDO International training events and conferences over the past 30 years and is the Firm’s International Liasion Partner and Managing Partner. In the capacity of Managing Partner he leads the firm’s Executive Committee.
In his 30 years of experience in practice, he has advised a wide range of clients ranging from financial instititutions to media companies and manufacturing entities to not for profit entities. His depth of knowledge across all practice areas involving audit and accounting, tax and compliance areas are particularly attractive to clients seeking a holistic advice.
He has served on various committees of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan including the Quality Control Review Committee, Accounting and Auditing Standards Committee, Professional Standards and Technical Advisory Committee and the Banking Committee. He has also been an advisor to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan on standard setting in the country. He is presently the joint auditor of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.

Abdul Qadeer qualified as a chartered accountant in 1985 from Taseer Hadi Khalid & Co., Chartered Accountants, Rawalpindi, a member firm of KPMG International. He was a partner in Coopers & Lybrand, Chartered Accountants and S. M. Masood & Co., Chartered Accountants, before registration of his own proprietorship firm, Abdul Qadeer & Co. This firm merged with Ebrahim & Co. (now BDO Ebrahim & Co.) on July 01, 2006 at which time Abdul Qadeer become a partner in the merged firm.
During his association with Coopers & Lybrand he attended six weeks training course in London, U.K carried out by Coopers & Lybrand on Risk Management and Computerized Auditing.
He has been responsible for undertaking audit and consultancy assignments both in industry and service sector, and has been involved for over 18 years in the field of audit, taxation and business advisory services.
Abdul Qadeer has also conducted valuation studies for Privatization Commission and Government of Pakistan for privatization of Government Industrial Units.
He was an elected member of Northern Committee for the period 1989-1997. He was also Chairman of Northern Regional Committee, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan from 1994-95 to 1995-96. He remained member of other committees of the ICAP.

Zulfikar Causer qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young in Toronto, Canada in 2005 and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and the Canadian Institute of Charered Accountants. He is also an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. He is also completed the Canadian Securities Course and Derivative Fundamentals Course as part of the Derivatives Market Specialist designation.
During his tenure at Ernst & Young, Zulfikar’s primary focus was in providing assurance services to large publicly traded corporations. He was primarily involved in the Resources, Manufacturing and Distribution sector with a focus on clients in the energy and real estate sectors. Advisory services experience includes work completed for a Fortune 500 corporation in assisting their Internal Audit group with their financial statement close process. He was also part of the Human Capital group as a tax staff member responsible for tax compliance and tax planning services.
Zulfikar joined BDO Ebrahim & Co. in 2005 as Manager Audit & Specialist Advisory Services and has been leading assurance and advisory teams in several client sector including financial services, manufacturing and not for profit. Advisory services experience includes developing internal control manuals and risk advisory services for several leading financial institutions in Pakistan. He was promoted to Senior Manager in 2007 and a Partner in 2009 in the Audit and Specialist Advisory Services practice area.
Zulfikar plays an active role in the training and developmemt of the Firm’s professional staff. In this capacity he has attended several training courses of BDO International held in Bangkok and Singapore on Risk, Controls, Integrated Audits, Compass 3 and S404 compliance. He has also attended the Accounting and Auditing Committee’s EMEA conference held in Rome in 2008. He has been designated to attend the Firm’s New Partner’s Conference to be held in Paris in mid June 2009.

Iffat Hussain qualified as a chartered accountant in 1994, having completed her training with A. F. Fergusons & Co. Chartered Accountants, Rawalpindi (a member firm of PriceWaterHouseCoopers) 1984-89. She has worked as Manager Finance in M/s Sungas (Pvt) Ltd a LPG Company from 1991-1995, Assistant Manger A. F. Fergusons & Co. 1996-1998, Manager Audit S. M. Masood & Co. 2002-2004. She joined BDO Ebrahim & Co. Chartered Accountants as Senior Manager in July 2004.
She also has teaching experience and has taught accounting subjects as a visiting faculty member in institutions like Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi, Fauji Foundation institute of Management and Computer Sciences, Rawalpindi and College of Financial Management Sciences, Islamabad during the period 1998 to 2002.
She has carried out audits in Petroleum, Textile, Manufacturing and Service Sectors including listed companies. She has considerable experience in conducting Audits and Financial Reviews of Non- Profit Organizations including several international NGO’s.

Anjum Fasih qualified as a chartered accountant in 1979, having completed his training with McCabe & Ford, Chartered Accountants, in England where he worked in accounting, auditing, taxation, company secretarial and insolvency service areas. He then joined KPMG in London, England where he stayed for two years and amongst others, was involved in the audit of the Economist, Rank Xerox, Milk Marketing Board, etc.
He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Anjum came to Pakistan and worked in the management consultancy practice of A.F. Ferguson & Co. (PricewaterhouseCoopers). He then joined the industry with the US pharmaceutical multinational Bristol-Myers Squibb as head of finance and later remained Managing Director for 14 years for the West Asia region (which included Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and four other countries). During that time the company became the 7th largest in Pakistan (out of 400) and its product Velosef became the best selling product of the country. He also worked on short term assignments in Jakarta, Indonesia and Cairo, Egypt.
He then joined Start Consult, Dubai, UAE, a management consulting firm engaged in advising and project implementation for clients on strategy /organization development, corporate finance, private equity transactions and research studies. He set up its Pakistan operations as CEO/Managing Director.
At Start Consult he was involved in the due diligence assignments of Pakistan’s largest oil marketing company and a large LPG importer/distributor/marketer for a Kuwait based group. He also worked in Dubai where he directed different teams of professionals for sale of a large UAE based logistics company operating worldwide; setting up regional pharmaceutical distribution center in Jebal Ali; advising a $0.5 billion private equity fund on investment/valuation of buying London Stock Exchange listed medical services company, investing in largest building contractor in UAE and in a European asset management company.
Anjum has attended many professional development programmes including Columbia University, USA’s Marketing Excellence Program, Profile of a Leader, Learning to Lead, Developing Leaders at Every Level and Senn-Delaney, USA’s Leadership, Teambuilding, and Culture Change.

Taher Dahodwala qualified in 1979 in Pakistan. He has worked for more than 18 years with ABN Amro Bank. During his tenure of service with the bank he was in-charge of internal audit department, credit facilities and accounts department. During his service period he attended banking related courses in Pakistan and abroad at Bahrain and Dubai on internal audit, communication skills and computer technology.
He retired from bank in 1997 and joined Ebrahim & Co. (now BDO Ebrahim & Co.) as a Partner in charge of Corporate Finance and Administration.
